Care and Repair
Care & Repair in the Vale is one of a network of Care & Repair schemes across Wales. They exist to enable older home-owners to have works carried out to their homes – repair, renovation or adaptations.
Care & Repair supports clients through the process of obtaining estimates for work, identifying the funding which may be available if the client cannot afford the work, and then overseeing the contractors on site. Care & Repair can also act as a grant agent for clients who are eligible for a disabled facilities grant.
Care & Repair is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, Newydd Housing Association and Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Care & Repair in the Vale also run a Handyperson Service, which undertakes very small jobs where the labour is free, clients only pay for materials.
Care & Repair in the Vale works in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council through the Small Adaptations Project with Social Services and also fits keysafes for those people who are require Social Services assistance.
