Who are we
Gareth Davies, Development Manager
Gareth has been Cadarn's Development manager since May 2006. He is responsible
for the delivery of the Group's overall development programme, the strategies
that underpin it and for identifying new business opportunities. He is also
responsible for developing key relationships with Local Authority partners and
the Welsh Assembly Government to ensure that the Group continues to develop new
affordable housing in its key operational areas.
He has worked in the Housing Association development world since 1995, having
spent the majority of his time in London and the South east. He has worked on a
range of new projects, from general needs schemes to complex supported housing
projects. He has also managed accommodation projects for the NHS and further
education establishments. Prior to that he worked for Wimpey Construction and
has a BSc (Hons) in Construction Management.
Gari Rowlands, Land Consultant
With a background in Estate Agency Gari started with Newydd in December 2005 as a
land consultant with the brief to secure residential development opportunities.
He works closely with our Architectural team in assessing the development
potential of any sites, and after agreeing terms with the Vendors his role has
been to action the necessary site investigations and liaise with our legal
representatives.
The development team has been successful in securing numerous sites over the
previous twelve months, which has enabled me to take up 'Project Management'
responsibilities. This involves administering the building contract and ensuring
that the scheme is brought to a successful conclusion with minimum delays. His
role is wide ranging and covers various aspects of the development process,
which makes it both interesting and enjoyable.
Rhianydd Jenkins, Development Administrator
Rhianydd has been employed by the company since June 2006. She is currently
employed in the development department as an administrator. Her role is to
support the team in all contract administration; this includes notification to
tenants of commencement of works, dealing with tenant and contractor issues,
arranging meetings on behalf of the development team, maintaining records and
satisfaction questionnaires and dealing with general day to day calls or issues
that arise.
Prior to commencing this role in the Development department Rhianydd worked in
Newydd's Regional office as a receptionist. Throughout her employment within the
company she has developed a large amount of knowledge in the social housing
sector, general housing maintenance and excellent customer relations skills.
