Mutual Exchanges
If you are a current tenant of a Housing Association or Local Authority you may
be eligible to swap your home with another tenant.
Newydd keeps a register of tenants who wish to swap their homes. This is
available at the Regional office.
Please bear in mind that there are certain restrictions in respect of mutual
exchanges, please refer to our tenants’ handbook or contact your Housing Officer
for further information.
Low Cost Home Ownership / Homebuy
Newydd do market homes for sale at below the market rates. These typically
involve Newydd subsidizing the cost of a property by 30%. No rent is charged
during the period of occupation however the owner is required to repay Newydd
30% of the market value when the property is sold.
For example:
Original purchase price: £100,000
Newydd contribution: £30,000
Purchaser contribution: £70,000
Resale price: £130,000
Repayment to Newydd: £39,000
